LEGACY PROGRAM

Our Legacy

Indigenous Owned. Community Led. Built on Country.

Concrete Creations is indigenous owned and operated. We’ve had the privilege of working alongside communities across Australia and internationally, delivering training programs that have created real jobs, practical skills, and meaningful personal growth opportunities. Our work is grounded in respect, for people, culture, and country, and guided by a belief that skills shared properly can create long-term change.

The Headstone Project

In 2021 we began our Legacy Program with the goal to make a genuine difference in Aboriginal communities by sharing our knowledge to create lasting benefit. The first instalment of this program is the headstone project.

The headstone project supports remote communities that have been forced to absorb excessive costs when it comes to memorials and headstones. Remote communities experience higher freight costs, limited access to materials, along with rising prices. These all hit communities hard, especially those in remote areas, during times that are already filled with grief.

This project is about changing that, by bringing skills, tools, and knowledge back to country.

We deliver hands-on concrete training on country, focusing on creating memorial pieces by locals, for locals. This includes:

  • Headstones
  • Pavers
  • Monuments and memorial pieces

Each program is shaped by the community, the people involved and the resources available locally.

When we arrive on country, we look at what’s already there: local sands, rocks, steel and materials that can be upcycled and repurposed to become art, and a reflection of local customs, culture and story.

Once a crew is ready, we get to work. With even the most basic tools, participants learn how to manufacture meaningful high-quality pieces from the ground up.

We provide:

  • Extensive hands-on training
  • Support and mentoring
  • Quality tooling and equipment
  • Pre-mixed cement and a wide array of colour oxides
  • Everything required to move the project forward

The life of the project requires commitment from participants. In return, they gain practical skills, confidence and the ability to contribute something deeply meaningful to their community.

Participants don’t just learn how to work with concrete. They see the joy and comfort these pieces bring to loved ones and the wider community. The impact stays long after the project ends.
